New Viola Music
Kathy & David Blackwell have produced three new books of concert pieces for viola and piano - Solo Time for Viola (published by Oxford University Press). Each book has 15 carefully selected and arranged pieces displaying an exciting variety of styles. In Book One the keys and techniques are suited to players of an intermediate level (around Grades 3-4). Book Two is for Grades 5-6 and Book Three (published next month) covers Grades 7-8.  Prices start at £13.95 and books one and two are in stock now.

The BBC Music Magazine Awards were announced last month - we have all the category winners in stock, from Currentzis' recording of Don Giovanni to the CPE Cello Concertos recorded by Arcangelo under the direction of Jonathon Cohen. The recording of the year went to Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for his first volume of Tchaikovsky Symphonies on the Onyx label. This (and the second volume) are fantastic performances of these symphonies - both are in stock now!
